Bring Your Own Bravery

The first step to Get Heroik- cultivate bravery. Recklessness is bravery to excess. Cowardice is a lack thereof. Much of the world prefers cowards. We believe it’s better to edge a bit towards the reckless side of the bravery continuum as often times, the worst case scenarios aren’t nearly as perilous as the world would have you believe. They’re easier to manage and will work for less. At Heroik, we have a mantra that allows us to Get Heroik each and every day. We remind ourselves to bring our own bravery; to own and control our efforts and outcomes in life. Every challenge we undertake, every project and adventure, the least we can do is to be responsible and courageous enough not to look to others when it is time to get things done, have a good time, share epic experiences and lend a hand. We bring our own bravery, lead by example; get in there and get dirty.

A few quotes about bravery worth remembering:

live life not without fear, but with gallantry against it

-Christian L J Silver

Courage is the most important of the virtues, because without courage you can’t practice any other virtue consistently. You can practice any virtue erratically, but nothing consistently without courage.

-Maya Angelou

Courage is rightly esteemed the first of human qualities … because it is the quality that guarantees all others.

-Winston Churchill

We encourage you to Bring Your Own Bravery. It’s not just a philosophy, it’s a business practice and policy. We bring a lot to the table. And, though our skills and capabilities may be vast and highly effective, ultimately, it is our clients who choose to step up and commit to a project; their own growth and future. Ultimately they first choose  to put foot to ass, share and clarify their vision,  make their needs known, see them fulfilled, and dive in and nurse their ideas from thought to profit. The notion of bringing your own bravery is often the very first discussion topic during any engagement.

Bring Your Own Bravery- This is a call to our community, to look within themselves to be heroes, not to others. If you want change, if you want growth, in business and the rest of life, you’re going to have to be brave enough to take the reigns and responsibility for your own life and decisions across the board. Your epic destiny, or tragic fate lies in your hands. It’s time to be brave now. Don’t wait for heroes. Don’t look to over rely on tools. Cultivate the skills, habits and discipline to build the business and life that you truly want.

The very first thing you need to cultivate is bravery. Here are a few seeds you can plant to cultivate bravery:

  • Recognize your strengths- Examine the relationship between your intentions and thoughts compared to your actions, habits and outcomes of your life.
  • In that analysis- you’ll recognize your failures and limitations. You’ll uncover new fears and obstacles.

Choose to pursue your goals and ambitions despite the fear of failure, shame, and guilt. Imagine the worst case scenario. Imagine the likely scenario. Imagine the best case scenario. Is the best case scenario/likely scenario worth the risk? Challenge yourself to take on more challenges that will empower your life. Bring your own bravery.
